Von Wright Limited Edition
The Capercaillies Fight Again. One of Finland’s most famous and beloved works comes to life as the Von Wright Limited Edition Watch. Together with the Ateneum Art Museum, we have incorporated Ferdinand von Wright’s famous oil painting (Taistelevat metsot / The Fighting Capercaillies) from 1886 into the watch in a way never seen before.
The harmonious design of the watch is built around light maple as well as a golden case and details. The brown hue of the dial, which also appears in the artwork, creates a battlefield for the small capercaillies at the tips of the hands.
Only 500 numbered pieces of Von Wright Limited Edition Watches have been crafted.

ONE OF FINLAND'S MOST BELOVED WORKS
Ferdinand von Wright, along with his brothers Magnus and Wilhelm, became famous for their particularly realistic bird and nature-themed works. The popularity of Ferdinand's painting "The Fighting Capercaillies" among Finns has been phenomenal.
Ferdinand loved peace in his home life. However, in his works, he often wanted to depict situations filled with tension and drama. The Fighting Capercaillies painting has served as a window for Finns into our country’s pure nature.

THE CAPERCAILLIES FIGHT ONCE AGAIN
The Von Wright Limited Edition Watch brings the capercaillies back to life one more time. The small capercaillies at the tips of the golden hands move through each other once an hour. The highlights of the artwork can also be found as a three-dimensional engraving on the back of the watch.
The wooden parts are made of maple grown in Sinebrychoff Park. Sinebrychoff Park was also one of the favorite spots for one of the artist brothers—Magnus von Wright. He often drew culturally and historically significant tree and nature-themed works there.

TOGETHER WITH ATENEUM
The Von Wright Limited Edition Watch has been created in close cooperation with the Ateneum Art Museum. As part of The Finnish National Gallery, Ateneum preserves the common art collection of the Finnish people. The most beloved works are often displayed in Ateneum's impressive Neo-Renaissance halls, bringing joy to museum visitors.
We combined our forces to create something entirely new. Only 500 individually numbered pieces of the Von Wright Limited Edition watches were made.
Every tree has a history and stories that we should listen and remember. When a significant tree needs to be removed, its story doesn't necessary end there. The last chapter begins - as Aarni Watch.
